September 1, 2010, Alan Jacob Onken, age 24 of Sibley, was arrested by an Osceola County Deputy for allegedly Operating While Intoxicated, 1st Offense (Serious Misdemeanor).  The charges stem from a traffic stop for an equipment violation in rural Osceola County.  Onken was booked into the Osceola County Jail and is currently being held on a $1,000 cash bond.

August 28, 2010, at 1:30 pm, Michael David Burkard, age 23 of Hawarden, Iowa, was driving a 2004 Honda motorcycle, northbound on 3rd Avenue in Ashton.  Burkard then turned eastbound onto 3rd Street and lost control, striking a legally parked 1992 Chevrolet Silverado.  The motorcycle, owned by Curtis Molitor of Ashton, sustained approximately $1,500 damage.  The pickup, owned by Ashton Motor Company of Ashton, sustained approximately $1,000 damage.  Burkard was given a citation for Failure to Maintain Control, and Driving Under Suspension, both Simple Misdemeanors.  No injuries were reported. 

August 28, 2010, at 9:05 pm, Ryan Jay Kroese, age 19 of Sioux Center, Iowa, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, northbound on Hwy 60, north of 240th Street and struck a deer on the roadway.  Kroese’s vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 damage.  No injuries were reported. 

August 27, 2010, Anton Eugene Alsip, age 29 of Sibley, Iowa, pled guilty to Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense, and Possession of Amphetamine 2nd Offense, both Aggravated Misdemeanors.  The Defendant is to pay a total fine of $2,221.50, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  On both counts, the Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 120 days, with 105 days suspended, with both counts to be served concurrently.  The Defendant is placed on formal probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for a period of 2 years.  The Defendant is ordered to undergo substance abuse counseling, and comply with the treatments recommendations.  On January 15, 2010, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Anton Alsip’s residence in Sibley, Iowa.  During the course of the search, Osceola Deputies located marijuana and prescription medication that Alsip did not have a prescription for.  Alsip was arrested for Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense, and Possession of Amphetamine 2nd Offense.

August 27, 2010, Jose Rene Tenorio-Vaquero, age 26 of Spencer, Iowa, pled guilty to Driving While Barred as a Habitual Offender, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $943.75, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 90 days, with 78 days suspended, and placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.  On August 15, 2010, an Osceola County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Jose Rene Tenorio-Vaquero for having an expired registration.  A check into Tenorio’s driving record showed Tenorio to be barred.  Tenorio was arrested for Driving While Barred and booked into the Osceola County Jail.  Tenorio was arrested for Driving While Barred, a Habitual Offender.

August 27, 2010, Troy Edgar Harris, age 37 of Ocheyedan, Iowa, pled guilty to Stalking, a Class “D” Felony.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $1,312.50, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to the custody of the Director of the Iowa Department of Corrections for a term not to exceed 5 years, with all time suspended, and placed on formal probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for a period of 2 years.  The Defendant shall successfully complete a program at a Residential Treatment Facility operated by the Iowa Department of Corrections and enroll in a Substance Abuse Treatment Program.  The Defendant shall have no contact with the victim.  On May 25 thru May 28 of 2010, Troy Harris repeatedly sent threatening text messages to a female victim which had a valid No Contact Order in place against Harris. 

August 27, 2010, Craig Wendel Ammerman, age 28 of Sibley, Iowa, pled guilty to  Burglary 3rd Degree as a Habitual Offender, a Class “D” Felony; and Operating While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a total fine of $2,524.46, the cost of this action, restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, and victim restitution, if any.  On the Burglary charge, the Defendant is sentenced to the custody of the Director of the Iowa Department of Corrections for a term not to exceed 15 years, with all time suspended.  The Defendant is placed on formal probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for a period of 3 years.  On the Operating While Under the Influence charge, the Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 1 year.  The Defendant shall undergo a Substance Abuse Evaluation and comply with the treatments recommendations.  On August 8, 2009, Craig Ammerman entered J&M Liquor after business hours, by breaking the drive up window, to commit a theft in Sibley, Iowa.  On arrival, Osceola County Deputies observed a silver Pontiac Bonneville with its truck open, parked on the west side of J&M Liquor.  Following a search of the business, Craig Ammerman was found hiding inside the cooler in the back of the store.  Ammerman was arrested for Burglary 3rd Degree, and Operating While Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. 

August 27, 2010, Wesley Gerald Hanson, age 20 of Ocheyedan, Iowa, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $270.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 10 days, with all time suspended, and placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.  On August 1, 2007, an Osceola County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Wesley Hanson for a curfew violation in Sibley, Iowa.  During the course of the stop, K-9 alerted the officers to the smell of narcotics in the vehicle.  Following a search of the vehicle, Hanson was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

August 27, 2010, Vaughan Rodger Kinnisten, age 60 of Sibley, Iowa, pled guilty to Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $1,797.50, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 30 days, with 28 days suspended, and placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.  The Defendant shall undergo a Substance Abuse Evaluation and comply with the treatments recommendations.  On May 17, 2010, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call about an argument taking place at a residence in Sibley, Iowa.  Upon arrival, an Osceola County Deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Kinnisten’s breath.  Kinnisten stated to the officer that he drove home from a bar, minutes before calling 9-1-1.  Kinnisten’s eyes were bloodshot; his pupils were dilated, and tested over .08.  Kinnisten was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.

August 25, 2010, at 6:30 pm, Jayne Marie Nestor, age 61 of Sheldon, Iowa, was driving a 2000 Chrysler 300, westbound on Hwy 9, west of Warbler Avenue and slowed down to allow 2 deer to cross the roadway.  Jay Anthony Theis, age 39 of Sheldon, Iowa, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado, westbound on Hwy 9 and failed to see Nestor brake for the deer on the roadway, and rear-ended Nestor’s vehicle.  Nestor’s vehicle sustained approximately $8,000 damage.  Theis’ vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 damage and was given a citation for Failure to Maintain Control, a Simple Misdemeanor.  No injuries were reported.

August 25, 2010, at 4:15 am, Brett Michael Kleve, age 41 of Ocheyedan, Iowa, was driving a 1995 Dodge Avenger, eastbound on Hwy 9, west of White Avenue, and struck a deer on the roadway.  Kleve’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,200 damage.  No injuries were reported.

August 23, 2010, at 11:45 pm, Eva Marie Brown, age 52 of Ocheyedan, Iowa, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Heritage High Roof, northbound on Tyler Avenue, near the intersection of 130th Street, and struck a deer on the roadway.  Brown’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,500 damage.  No injuries were reported.

August 15, 2010, Jose Rene Tenorio-Vaquero, age 26, of Spencer, Iowa was arrested by an Osceola County Deputy for Driving While Barred an Aggravated Misdemeanor.  The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop near Ashton, Iowa for a registration violation.  A closer examination of Tenorio-Vaquero’s driving record showed him to also be suspended and revoked.  Tenorio-Vaquero was also charged with Driving While Suspended, a Simple Misdemeanor; Driving while Revoked, a Simple Misdemeanor and Failure to File SR-22 as Required, A Simple Misdemeanor.  Tenorio-Vaquero is currently being held by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on a $2,900 cash or surety bond.  Tenorio-Vaquero is also being held on a detainer placed by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

August 15, 2010, an Osceola County Deputy arrested Tracy Ann Brown, age 40, of Cherokee, Iowa for allegedly Operating While Intoxicated, First Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The arrest stemmed from a complaint of a vehicle traveling north in the southbound lane of Highway 60 near Ashton, Iowa.  Brown was also cited for Driving on the Wrong Side of a Two Lane Highway.  A passenger was also cited for Open Container.  Brown is currently being held in the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on a $1,000 cash or surety bond.

August 13, 2010, Melissa Lynn Barnett, age 21 of Ashton, Iowa, pled guilty to Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Possession of a Controlled Substance, both Serious Misdemeanors.  The Defendant is to pay a total fine of $2,507.50, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  On each charge, the Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 30 days, with 28 days suspended, with both sentences to be served consecutively.  The Defendant is placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.  The Defendant shall undergo a substance abuse evaluation and comply with the treatments recommendations.  On December 22, 2009, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Melissa Barnett’s residence in Ashton, Iowa.   A search of the residence uncovered Barnett to be in Possession of a Controlled Substance.  On March 13, 2010, Melissa Barnett was stopped on 2nd Avenue, in Ashton, Iowa.   During the course of the stop, an Osceola County Deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol on Barnett’s breath, and tested over .08.  Barnett was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. 

August 13, 2010, Alexander Dave Miller, age 46 of Sheldon, Iowa, pled guilty to Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense, a Class ”D” Felony.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $4,228.75, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is committed to the custody of the Director of the Department of Corrections for no more than five years.  On December 24, 2009, an Osceola County Deputy observed a vehicle in the ditch on 170th Street and Pierce Avenue.  Alexander Miller was located walking east from the vehicle.  Miller had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath, and refused to perform sobriety tests.  Miller was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense. 

August 13, 2010, Elmer Saul Monzon, age 41 of Sibley, Iowa, pled guilty to Identity Theft, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $968.75, the cost of this action, and restitution for any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 180 days, with 100 days suspended, and placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.  On May 24, 2010, Elmer Monzon was arrested for Identity Theft following into an investigation in which Monzon was using another person’s Social Security Number to obtain employment in Sibley, Iowa. 

August 11, 2010, at 10:10 pm, Nyanpal Reat, age 41 of Worthington, MN, was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe, northbound on Hwy 59, south of 220th Street, and struck a cow on the roadway.  Reat's vehicle sustained approximately $2,500 damage.  The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate this incident to determine who the cow belongs too.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

August 11, 2010, David John McCloskey Jr., age 20 of Sibley, Iowa, was arrested for allegedly committing Assault, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; and Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Serious Misdemeanor.  McCloskey allegedly threatened another person with a knife during an argument in Sibley, Iowa.  A search of McCloskey’s vehicle also uncovered Marijuana.  Roberto Ayala, age 18 of Sibley, Iowa, was arrested for allegedly committing Assault, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.  Ayala allegedly threatened another person with a bat during an argument in Sibley.  The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office later executed a search warrant on McCloskey’s residence at 1001 6th Street in Sibley.  Ayala and McCloskey were additionally charged with allegedly having Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor.  McCloskey is being held at the Osceola County Jail on a $3,300 cash bond.  Ayala is being held at the Osceola County Jail on a $2,300 cash bond.

August 11, 2010, Gregory Lee Mouw, age 34 of Hospers, Iowa, was arrested for allegedly Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The charges stem from a traffic stop near Ritter, Iowa when an Osceola County Deputy observed a traffic violation.  Mouw was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond.

August 10, 2010, at 6:15 am, Marco Morales-Gomez, age 44 of Worthington, MN, was driving a 2002 Buick, southbound on Hwy 60, 2 miles south of Ashton.  Due to the heavy rain, Morales-Gomez lost control of the vehicle when a semi passed him, entered the west ditch where the vehicle rolled onto its side in standing water.  Morales-Gomez's vehicle sustained approximately $7,000 damage.  No injuries were reported.

August 9, 2010, Derick George Thomas, age 24 of Spencer, Iowa, was arrested on an Osceola County Warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.  Thomas was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.

August 7th, 2010, an Osceola County Deputy arrested 27 year old Nicole Marie Riordan of Primghar, Iowa, for allegedly Operating While Intoxicated, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The charges stem from a traffic stop near Melvin, Iowa, when a Deputy observed an equipment violation.  Riordan was booked in the Osceola County Jail on a $1000 cash bond.

 

August 7, 2010, at 12:00 pm, Norman Leo Freking, age 65 of Ashton, Iowa, was driving a 2005 Buick Lesabre, northbound on Nettle Avenue, north of 270th Street in Osceola County.  Freking did not see that the road was washed out until he was upon the gap between the roadway and culvert and drove over it.  Freking's vehicle sustained approximately $1,200 damage.  The culvert sustained no damage.  No injuries were reported.

 

August 2, 2010, an Osceola County Deputy arrested Jacob Kyle Bronson, age 26 of Melvin, Iowa.  Bronson was arrested for allegedly Driving While Revoked, a Serious Misdemeanor.  Bronson was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $1,000.00 cash bond.

August 2, 2010, Daniel Jo Fox, age 33 of Sibley, Iowa, pled guilty to Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $60.00, the cost of this action, restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, and victim restitution, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 3 days, with all time suspended and placed on informal probation to the Magistrate Court for a period of 2 years.  On May 28, 2010, Daniel Fox assaulted a male victim over a dispute about ownership of a vehicle. 

August 2, 2010, Andres Antonio Ramos, age 18 of Sibley, Iowa, pled guilty to Failure to have SR-22 Insurance, a Simple Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $397.50, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  On July 21, 2010, Andres Ramos was arrested during a traffic stop for Failure to have SR-22 Insurance.

August 1, 2010, Bertha Ann Wiersma, age 81 of Sibley, Iowa, was driving a 1996 Ford Taurus, eastbound on 5th Street NE, east of 9th Avenue in Sibley, Iowa, and failed to see a legally parked 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier and sideswiped the vehicle.  The Cavalier, owned by Lennis Harberts of Sibley, Iowa, sustained approximately $2,500.00 damage.  Wiersma’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,000.00 damage and was given a citation for Failure to Maintain Control.  No injuries were reported.

August 1, 2010, an Osceola County Deputy arrested Christopher Lee Barnett, age 24 of Cylinder, Iowa, on a valid Osceola County Warrant for Failure to Pay Fines for Domestic Abuse Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor.  Barnett was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $300.00 cash bond. 

July 31, 2010, Ellison Hayenga, age 55 of Sibley, Iowa, was driving a 2001 Ford Ambulance, westbound on 9th Street, east of 4th Avenue and struck a street light pole while backing the vehicle.  The Osceola County Ambulance sustained approximately $1,000.00 damage.  The City of Sibley light pole sustained approximately $4,000.00 damage.  No injuries were reported.

July 30, 2010, Christopher Glen Hattendorf, age 28 of Ocheyedan, Iowa, was found guilty of Driving Without a License, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $725.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 30 days, with 26 days suspended.  On May 3, 2010, Christopher Hattendorf was arrested during a traffic stop for Failure to have a Valid Driver’s License.

July 30, 2010, an Osceola County Deputy arrested Roberto Ayala, age 18 of Sibley, Iowa, on a valid Osceola County Warrant for Theft 4th Degree, a Serious Misdemeanor.  Ayala was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $1,000.00 cash bond. 

July 26, 2010, an Osceola County Deputy arrested Kurt Alan Onken, age 20 of Sanborn, Iowa, on a valid Osceola County Warrant for a Probation Violation on Operating Under the Influence, a Serious Misdemeanor.  Onken was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $500.00 cash bond.

July 26, 2010, Pastor Mendez-Sanchez was arrested by Osceola County Deputies for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend at 303 3rd Avenue in Sibley, Iowa.  The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop in Sibley.  Mendez-Sanchez was booked into the Osceola County Jail for Domestic Abuse Assault (Simple Misdemeanor) and is currently held on $300 cash bond.

July 23, 2010, Jerry Gene Olson, age 71 of Hartley, Iowa, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Montana, southbound on Wilson Avenue, south of 130th Street, and struck a deer on the roadway.  Olson’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,000.00 damage.  No injuries were reported.

July 20, 2010, Devin Maker, age 18 of Little Rock, Iowa, was driving a 1989 Ford Bronco, northbound on Nettle Avenue, north of 170th Street and swerved to miss a deer on the roadway.  Maker lost control of the vehicle and entered the west ditch where the vehicle rolled one time before coming to rest on its wheels.  Maker’s vehicle sustained approximately $3,500.00 damage.  Maker sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was transported by a private party to the Osceola Community Hospital to be evaluated. 

July 20, 2010, Andres Antonio Ramos, age 18 of Sibley, Iowa, was arrested for allegedly Driving While Suspended and Failure to have SR-22 Insurance, both Simple Misdemeanors.  The charges stem from a traffic stop on Hwy 9 and Sorrel Avenue for an equipment violation.  Ramos was booked into the Osceola County Jail where he posted a $600.00 cash bond and was released.

July 19, 2010, Christopher Lee Runge, age 37 of Sibley, Iowa, was found guilty of Animal Neglect, a Simple Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $90.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney and veterinary fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 30 days, with 29 days suspended and placed on informal probation to the Magistrate Court for a period of 2 years.  On June 7, 2010, Christopher Runge was charged with Animal Neglect following a complaint and examination of a horse owned by Runge, which was not being cared for.

July 19, 2010, Jedd Bradley Julius, age 28 of Sibley, Iowa, pled guilty to Interference with Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $60.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 2 days.  On September 12, 2009, Jedd Julius was charged with Interference with Official Acts following a traffic stop in which Julius failed to comply with the officers instructions. 

July 17, 2010, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call about an intruder that refused to leave a residence in Ocheyedan.  Following an investigation, Dean Robert Niswander, age 54 of Ocheyedan, Iowa, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a male with a baseball bat.  Niswander was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $300.00 cash bond.

July 16, 2010, Patience Tate, age 26 of Sheldon, Iowa, was found guilty of Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $625.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 1 year with a Deferred Judgment pending successful completion of the probation requirements.  On June 12, 2010, Patience Tate was stopped on Hwy 60 & Opal Avenue for a traffic violation.  During the course of the stop, an Osceola County Deputy could smell and odor of an alcoholic beverage on Tate’s breath.  Tate failed sobriety tests and tested over .08.  Tate was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.

July 16, 2010, Jessica Elise Ackerman, age 18 of Sibley, Iowa, was found guilty of Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $625.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 1 year, with a Deferred Judgment pending successful completion of the probation requirements.  On April 4, 2010, Jessica Ackerman was stopped on 180th Street and NW Blvd for a traffic violation.  During the course of the stop, an Osceola County Deputy could smell and odor of an alcoholic beverage on Ackerman’s breath.  Ackerman failed sobriety tests and tested over .08.  Ackerman was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.

July 16, 2010, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call about an unwanted person in a home in Ocheyedan, Iowa.  Following an investigation, Dean Robert Niswander, age 54 of Ocheyedan, Iowa, was arrested for allegedly committing Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor.  Niswander was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $300.00 cash bond.

July 15, 2010, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jesse Lee Roth, age 19 of Sheldon, Iowa, on 2 Osceola County Warrants for Theft 5th and Assault, both Simple Misdemeanors.  Roth was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $600.00 cash only bond.

July 12, 2010, Andrew John Schwager, age 24 of Estherville, Iowa, pled guilty to Public Intoxication, a Simple Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $195.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  On June 30, 2010, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about an intoxicated male that entered a residence on 7th Street in Sibley, Iowa, without permission.  Andrew Schwager went to the residence looking for someone that did not live there and then left.  Schwager was located outside of the residence and was arrested for Public Intoxication.

July 12, 2010, Stephen Johnson, age 20 of Little Rock, Iowa, pled guilty to Driving Under Suspension, a Simple Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $397.50, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  On July 5, 2010, Stephen Johnson was stopped on 170th Street and Oak Hill Avenue for a traffic violation.  A check of Johnson’s driving record showed him to be Suspended for non-payment of Iowa fine.  Johnson was cited for Driving While Suspended. 

July 7, 2010, Raul Lopez-Belman, age 23 of Des Moines, Iowa, was arrested for allegedly Driving While Suspended and Failure to have SR-22 Insurance, both Simple Misdemeanors.  Lopez-Belman was booked into the Osceola County Jail and released after posting a $600 cash bond. 

July 7, 2010, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call about a male assaulting a male juvenile.  Following an investigation, Loren Donald Petersen, age 55 of Sibley, Iowa, was arrested for allegedly committing Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor.  Petersen was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $300 cash bond.

July 6, 2010, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Camack, age 42 of George, Iowa, for allegedly Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated 2nd Offense, an Aggravated Misdemeanor; Driving While Suspended and Open Container, both Simple Misdemeanors. Camack was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $2,600 cash bond.

July 6, 2010, Anthony Thomas Cooper, age 22 of Rock Valley, Iowa, was arrested on an Osceola County Warrant for a Probation Revocation in which Cooper violated the terms of his probation.  The charges stem from a previous arrest on December 16, 2007, for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.  Cooper was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $450 cash bond.

July 5, 2010, Tywone Carey, age 27 of Sibley, Iowa, was arrested on an Osceola County Warrant for a Probation Revocation in which Carey violated the terms of his probation.  The charges stem from a previous arrest on October 19, 2002, for Operating While Intoxicated, a Serious Misdemeanor.  Carey was booked into the Osceola County Jail and held without bond.

July 4, 2010, at 8:55 am, Dennis Reinke, age 56 of Ashton, Iowa, was driving a 1996 Dodge pickup, westbound on 240th Street, west of Pierce Avenue and struck a deer on the roadway.  Reinke’s vehicle sustained approximately $1,200 damage.  No injuries were reported.

July 2, 2010, Tammy June Bergstrom, age 49 of Ashton, Iowa, pled guilty to Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor.  The Defendant is to pay a fine of $1,797.50, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  The Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 30 days, with 28 days suspended and placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.  The Defendant shall undergo a substance abuse evaluation and comply with the treatments recommendations.  On May 16, 2010, Tammy Bergstrom parked her vehicle on the roadway of Olive Avenue, near 170th Street.  An Osceola County Deputy approached the vehicle and could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle.  Bergstrom failed sobriety tests and tested over .08.  Bergstrom was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.    

July 2, 2010, Josue Nataniel Barrera, age 27 of Worthington, Minnesota, pled guilty to Forgery and Identity Theft, both Aggravated Misdemeanors.  The Defendant is to pay a total fine of $125.00, the cost of this action, and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, if any.  On the Forgery charge, the Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 100 days, with 51 days suspended.  On the Identity Theft charge, the defendant is sentenced to the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections for a period of 2 years, with all time suspended and placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.  On May 14, 2010, Josue Barrera was stopped on M18 and 180th Street for a traffic violation.  During the course of the stop, Barrera admitted he was working under a false name and social security number that did not belong to him to obtain employment.  Barrera was arrested for Forgery and Identity Theft.

July 2, 2010, Ricky Jon Sohn, age 46 of Primghar, Iowa, pled guilty to Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, and Eluding, both Serious Misdemeanors.  The Defendant is to pay a total fine of $2,764.90, the cost of this action, restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, and victim restitution, if any.  On both charges, the Defendant is sentenced to imprisonment in the Osceola County Jail for a term of 90 days, with 80 days suspended, with both sentences to be served concurrently.  The Defendant is placed on informal probation to the Osceola County Sheriff for a period of 2 years.  The Defendant shall undergo a substance abuse evaluation and comply with the treatments recommendations.  In November 20, 2009, Ricky Sohn failed to stop for a traffic stop on Hwy 60.  Sohn drove northbound on Hwy 60 in the southbound lane before Osceola County officers boxed in Sohn’s vehicle at the intersection of 230th Street.  Osceola County Deputies could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from Sohn’s breath.  Sohn refused sobriety tests and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and Eluding.
